Festival in Setúbal, Portugal 2019

Calling all Singers and Collaborative Pianists!

GSI Arts Foundation is delighted to announce our upcoming opera festival and competition in the beautiful city of Setúbal, Portugal!

Our intensive program includes a music staff of world renowned coaches and voice teachers, from the Metropolitan Opera, The Salzburg Mozarteum, Opéra de Paris and St. Petersburg Russia, among others. 

The program will provide numerous performance opportunities, such as concerts in historical churches of the city, as well as a concert of staged opera scenes. The repertoire for the opera scenes and concerts shall be tailored specifically to suit the talents of our singers. 

We will provide extensive experience and training for collaborative pianists with the coaches on our faculty.

-Vocal technique, style

-Coaching in language diction, role interpretation, musical styles 

-Master classes

-Role preparation advice

-Language diction

-Stage Movement and acting

-Audition and competition Preparation

-Festival competition

-Concert performances of arias, duets and opera scenes

Collaborative Pianists:

-Vocal studio accompaniment

-Training in vocal coaching for opera arias as well as  lieder and chamber music, as available

-Score reading

-Interpretive skills

-Collaborative work in concerts

About Setúbal

The city of Setúbal is a historic, charming city along the coast of the Atlantic ocean. With a rich history as Portugal’s most important port city, churches dating back to the 15th century, sandy beaches, natural parks, sea air, fresh seafood and sunshine, the conditions are perfect for classical singing, music 

making and learning.

-Housing is included in the fee for both singers and collaborative pianists.
